Couldn’t talk about the new Jaleo restaurant in Disney Springs without talking about Jose Andres. Not because he was on the Times Magazine’s 100 most influential personalities list in 2012 and 2018. Not because he carries two stars in the Michelin constellation and his numerous achievements and awards, but because of his fantastic humanitarian work in areas devastated by natural disasters around the world.
World Central Kitchen was originally set up to serve and distribute healthy food to families affected by the earthquake in Haiti. From this point on, WCK has organized programs in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Zambia, Peru, Cuba, Uganda, Cambodia. The organization served more than two million meals in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.
That’s why talking about Jaleo and its wonderful menu not only sharpens the senses but is also good for the soul. The dishes are designed to share (the famous “Spanish tapas”), made with ingredients coming directly from Spain or from local producers.
No one should miss out on the opportunity to taste the “Iberico Secret”, a cut from the legendary Spanish black-legged pigs. Traditional croquettes are served on Cinderella’s cushion and are royalty worthy, along with a selection of unique creations and irresistible desserts.
Jaleo means dance, noise, movement, a good, busy and delicious week to all.
The chef’s coat is always ready and waiting for him. Maybe with a little luck you have a pleasant surprise. I leave you with the view of the restaurant and now I’m starving!
